Internship Responsibilities

​     The purpose of this position is to further the student's understanding and experience in the field of parks maintenance by providing support for a variety of departmental functions including but not limited to: weeding beds, watering, planting, plant trimming, picking up litter, and small plant bed design.
​     Minimum Requirements: Must be in the process of acquiring a degree in horticulture or field related to a service provided by municipal government. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License. Typical Working Hours Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule
     Get a behind the scenes look at a local Parks and Recreation Department! At this internship you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in park maintenance and recreation programming. There will be a lot of physical labor, so make sure you are prepared for that. However, you will gain a better appreciation for a local parks department and learn a lot about park planning, design, maintenance, and weeding!
